About The Department

At present, the department has six faculty members. The academic condition in terms of quality of faculty and learning transfer process is healthy and adequate. All the teachers of the department are sincerely engaged in scholarly pursuits.However, during last five years the department has suffered due shortage of one teacher after retirement of Dr. Jaidev Pathak. The shortage of teacher is affecting adversely the efficiency of academic staff as well as academic career of the students.

Learning Resources

The department has well equiped library having specialised books on chemical studies along with wi-fi internet connectivity. one of the classroom is equiped with digital projection and smart board technology. Moreover the department owns well equiped paracical laboratory.

Future Plan of Action

• Opening PG courses.
• Publishing departmental journal.
• Academic Tour, Awareness and Extension Programmes for students.

HISTORY
The college provides an excellent opportunity for interaction among students coming from various ethnic and linguistic background. College has accredited with "A" Grade by NAAC, and selected by UGC as Centre with Potential Excellence.Debraj Roy College came into being in the wake of independence of the country around 1949. In the post independence period here was a seething atmosphere of great joy and excitement all over the country and this tempo was also felt in an isolated and sleepy town at Golaghat.
