Area of Interest: My research focuses on the ecology and conservation of wildlife, especially endangered and threatened species, in ecosystems impacted by humans. I enjoy teaching and focus my research work in the Indo-Malayan Biodiversity Hotspot on Arboreal Mammals.

  • Presented a Oral Talk and Poster in Biodiverse 2018 held on “Can you see me: Tackling the issue of detectability in tropical forest, Assam in IIT Guwahati.
  • Attended the two week GIS and Remote sensing workshop organized by North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC, Shillong) from April 17- 28th  2017.
  • Attended a one-week workshop on Bioinformatics: Tools and Application organized by Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh from April 23rd - 29th 2019
  • Participated in the Two day National Seminar on "Conservation of Biodiversity (NSCB 2022)” together with Kisan Mela 2022, organized by Biotech KISAN Hub, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya under the aegis of DBT, New Delhi on 2nd and 3rd September 2022 at the NEHU, Tura Campus, Meghalaya.

Awards/Achievement received:

  • Worked as a Project “Field Assistant” in the project “Demographic response of Understory birds to human-induced habitat degradation in the eastern Himalaya by doing mist-netting, extraction of birds from mist nets, bird ringing and obtaining morphological data from birds in 2011 under NCBS, Bangalore.
  • Worked as a “BSR-JRF and SRF” in the doctoral research project in Assam University, Sichar from 2012-2015.
  • Worked as “Assistant Field Officer” under wildlife rescue and rehabilitation project with Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) from 2016-17.
  • Worked as a Lecturer (contractual post) for a period of one year in Sankardev College and Guest Faculty in Cotton University from 2017-2018.
  • Worked as “Research Personnel” under Animal Health Division with Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Umiam (ICAR) from 2017 till 2019.
  • Worked as a "Assistant Professor" stage I- for a period of one year in Gurucharan College, Silchar from September, 2019 till March 2021.
