About The Department

The department of Zoology was established in the year 1960. Distinguished adorned the faculty of Zoology from time to time. Presently the department has 5 full-time teachers who are sincerely engaged in their classes and research. Besides the Department has long and constant history of producing First class graduates.

Learning Resources

The department is equiped with digital classroom with projector, microscope projection facility, high resolution microscope with photography facility and library. Museum with zoological specimens and osteolgical collections for hands on practical.

Future Plan of Action

• Plan to set up bio-informatics lab.
• Plan to publish departmental research journal.
• Plan to set-up a osteology museum.

HISTORY
The college provides an excellent opportunity for interaction among students coming from various ethnic and linguistic background. College has accredited with "A" Grade by NAAC, and selected by UGC as Centre with Potential Excellence.Debraj Roy College came into being in the wake of independence of the country around 1949. In the post independence period here was a seething atmosphere of great joy and excitement all over the country and this tempo was also felt in an isolated and sleepy town at Golaghat.
