About The Department
The College was established in 1949 and the science departments came into existence in the year 1960 as an elective subject of two years Intermediate Science Course. Under Dibrugarh University affiliation, Chemistry department started general course from 1960 to 1973. Prof. V. Jogi was the initiator of the department with short tenure and his vacancy was filled up by Prof. Eshahaque Ali in 1974, who also rendered short servive to the department. Dr. T. N. Hazarika joined in the post of Prof. Ali. Thereafter, Prof. J. Pathak, Prof. L. C. Gogoi, Mr. Gamodhar Kaivorta (Demostration) and Dr. Anil Kr. Baruah joined the departmment.
